Cirque Bijou, along with the rest of the arts and entertainment industry, have been radically affected by Covid 19.
After months of no work we decided to put on our own performance: highlighting the plight of the events industry supporting #WeMakeEvents, honouring our love for the arts and the NHS, and showing that performances and events can be done amid this pandemic – adhering to social distancing rules and following government guidelines.
We gathered together a group of 30 volunteer crew and performers and, using our fantastic LED umbrellas, created a stunning performance which was filmed by drone. We had rigorous health and safety procedures in place throughout, keeping the safety of our crew and artists at the forefront of our mind.
Having done this successfully and safely, we are now taking bookings for socially distanced workshops and performances. Our re-configured Umbrella Project is the perfect way to bring people together safely to create a highly visual performance.
