Meet Stu Freeman our new Arts Administrator
We are so pleased to welcome Stu Freeman to Cirque Bijou as our new Arts Administrator. Stu will be heading up our marketing, socials and daily admin. He comes from a background of events planning, cross platform marketing and works very closely with performers and the LGBTQ+ community.
A Few Words From Stu
I am so excited to join the team at Cirque Bijou as the new Arts Administrator looking after all things marketing and social media. So if you have sent us a message recently then the chances are you’re talking to me 🙂 hi!
Punka Events
I am originally from the Midlands but I have lived in Bristol since 2007 and love this city so much. My background is in film, graphic design and visual communication which comes in handy with one of my hobbies which is events! For the past 8 years one of my main hobbies has been running diverse alternative LGBTQ+ events in Bristol called Punka. My events range from club nights and cabaret shows featuring drag and burlesque to fundraisers and live music gigs showcasing up and coming artists. I manage all of the social media for Punka and create all of the marketing for the events. I have also done some marketing work and sound engineering for my peers events too.
Due to the success of Punka I have collaborated with Spotify on a Punka Pride playlist. I also have a stage at Bristol Pride known as the Uplift Stage. I curate a live music lineup to showcase the many facets of queer music.
Youtube Channel – Stootoob
One of my other hobbies is my little Youtube channel which is called Stootoob (very unoriginal I know). I started to make videos during the pandemic to pass time and help with my confidence in public speaking. My channel has now become a lovely way for me to recommend movies and TV series that are hidden gems or did not get enough love on their release. The small community it has created in the comments section has been really wonderful to cultivate. It’s a very nice feeling that some people value my recommendations.
I am very honoured to be working with the crew at Cirque Bijou. I can’t wait to share all the amazing projects we have coming up!
