We’ve produced circus and street theatre for Bristol Harbour Festival for 15 years and this year we’re delighted to be moving sites and installing our Circus Playground in Queen Square. Within, you’ll find the circus stage, with a full programme of performance from 12-5pm, surrounded by a host of activities and installations for children and their families to join in with.
In 2018 we join colleagues, companions and communities across the country in celebrating 250 years of circus in the UK. Bristol is, of course, the UK’s City of Circus – and where better to celebrate this than Bristol Harbour Festival, the city’s (and indeed the South West’s largest free event)?! Our Circus Playground programme is made up of 90% Bristol artists, from emerging artists training in the city to international superstars returning to grace our stage.
We’ll be going all out cheesy circus so expect lots of clowning around, daredevil stunts and audience participation! You can try out your own juggling skills, dress your dog as a clown, race your baby, fold some origami shapes, or sit back, relax, and enjoy the fact that you’re not the one on the trapeze…
The circus stage has BSL interpretation both days.
