Narrative: A celebration of urban sports and the creative power of youth

The brief:

Cirque Bijou’s outdoor urban circus show Project 3Sixty brought together an exciting and and diverse cast aged 16-45 with cutting edge video technology and community engagement for a range of clients including local authorities around the UK between 2008 and 2013.

Each show was different, responding to the interest of the local community groups. For example in Bradford we got involved in donk music whilst communities in Telford were more keen on grafitti and beatboxing. Each show was outdoors with challenging stunts and acrobatics and a large scale 3D set, which we video mapped – a cutting edge technology at the time!

Many emerging artists involved in the shows became very well known later on – like Bellatrix and Nao from the Boxettes, breakers and trials riders who went on to win world championship competitions.

Project 3Sixty has really set the standard for future arts and cultural activities we will be offering to children and young people within Telford, it has truly inspired not only the young people but also parents, families and teachers. A great success!
